Friends of the Welsh guitar legendMickey Gee, who died in January, are holding a memorial benefit concert this Sunday in Cardiff.Fellow musicians, including Andy Fairweather Low, Geraint Watkins and broadcaster Owen Money will all be paying tribute to the guitarist at The Globe in Albany Road from 7pm.
Described as the best guitarist to ever come out of Wales, Gee played alongside some of the biggest names in the music industry during his career. His many credits included playing on Dave Edmunds’ 1970 Christmas number one I Hear You Knockin’ and Shakin’ Stevens huge hits Green Door and This Ole’ House.
